THE STORY BARN

History

In 1988 Mary-Eileen founded The Second Story Workshop, now known as The Story Barn, in a small backyard barn lovingly renovated by her husband Ted Derry.

It is a centre which promotes storytelling as an art form and an educational tool through courses, workshops, concerts, a resource centre, and monthly open storytelling evenings.

Now about to enter its 20th year, the SSW / Story Barn has drawn hundreds of people, from all over Ontario and beyond, into the community of storytellers and the world of storytelling.

Stories Aloud

Join us for STORIES ALOUD, an evening for adults to share stories with one another.

You are welcome to just listen, of course, but the warm informal atmosphere may work its magic on you, and if it does, you are welcome to share a tale.

Candles, a wood stove, and hot cider are waiting, along with a lot of friendly folk.

STORIES ALOUD is held the first Friday of the month from 8:00 – 11:00 p.m.
September to June. Donations are accepted at the door with $4 the suggested donation.
